My school has a block schedule. (In example: 4 classes in one semester, 8 classes a year.)

First Semester:
AP Biology- Prep(First semester of AP Biology)
Honors Algebra II
Foods II
Chemistry AP- Prep(First semester of AP Chem.)

Second Semester:
Nutritional Studies
AP Chemistry-End(Second Semester)
Forensic Science
AP Biology-End

Not the toughest schedule, but I’m happy with it! I think that the block schedule really holds me back from taking as many AP classes as I can, along with electives that I want to take.

^block schedule exactly like tacoperson @ my school.

First Semester:
Period 1: AP Calculus AB
Period 2:English 11 Honors

Period 2:AP Calculus BC [AB is a prereq to BC]
Period 3:AP Physics C: E&M
Period 4:Microsoft Certification [Fluff class]

Tough road ahead, although I do really well in Math/Science Classes: Plus, my Physics teacher is an awesome person (and my track coach), and I’ll be learning subjects I really really enjoy, so I feel like that will mitigate the toughness a bit.

@Cornball If my school did that it would be a complete disaster >_< Especially for the freshman… And I could barely wait long enough for my schedule, when I got it over a week before school starts.

It IS a disaster. Last year, my school waited until the first day to tell you your teachers and room numbers. I was a freshman. My school is so big, some seniors still haven’t ventured in certain areas. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?

I have an unorthodox schedule this year because I’m taking the majority of my classes at an online school and then returning to my regular school on Fridays. I’m taking two self-directed classes with my high school and will be meeting with my teachers on Fridays to review my progress and work in the art studio, attend club meetings, and in general just be on campus so people won’t fear that I’ve fallen off the face of the planet or something.

The online school has live class seminars that are 75 minutes long and meet twice a week (except for foreign languages which meet three times a week).
