Post your January SAT scores

That can't be the right curve for CR, because I didn't omit any questions, and I got 760. According to that curve, I couldn't have gotten what I got.

hm....i really f-ed up the essay. i had one paragraph and a half when i was forced to put my pencil down. yet - i got a 9. hurrah

cr - 670 <--- wow, i usually get 620's
math - 700 <--- what happened?!?! i got 80 on psat
w - 710 <--- not bad, i could have owned it though

730 CR (up 50 from first time)
800 M (up 100 from last time WOOT!)
710 WR 10 essay (same as last time, :( , was getting 770+ on practice tests)

Composite 2240, want at least 10 more points, preferably 60!

800 M
630 CR :(
720 W 10 essay
Total: 2150

This is the first time I've taken it though. The CR score just seems like such an eyesore... yet I can't seem to get rid of it :(

Haha.. sorry, totally unrelated but:

"Oh, College Board." <--- wow that's the most random quote on this thread! LOL, who would ever make such an interjection? Very funny. Props to the poster who said that ;)

-Jon :)

we'regoingdown_swinging, I also don't know what I should do with a 2290! Glad to know someone knows how I feel.

Do you think I should retake a 2310? I got 720 CR, 800 Math and 790 Writing. Will the lower CR hurt? And do all sections count equally at places like MIT, Duke, Chicago...

Julina- I would retake if you had one low section, like ~700. But a 2290 is as good as a 2300.

DarkrulerII, my lowest section was 730 in Writing. But I don't know if it's worth it to boost a section that isn't even stable right now.

Reading 800
Math 740
Writing 790

As a sophomore, I was hoping to get the SAT done with. Now I have to decide whether or not to take it again.

Julina- ok, sounds good. I wouldn't retake it then. What do you think about my case?

DarkRulerII, is this your first time taking it? I think your score is REALLY awesome. If I were you, I would not take it again just for CR. Like there's a point when I think it just doesn't matter anymore because colleges already know you're smart. I don't know if certain colleges only look at certain sections though. But I'm sure that science/math oriented colleges would love to see high SAT I Math scores that reflect your skill in the subject. Anyway, I would NOT retake it in your case. Anything above 2300 is godly. =]

730 Critical Reading (Fine...)
740 Writing (Should have been an 800...)
800 Math (Not sure how...)

I'm done.

OK, thanks. Your response was very reassuring! Thanks so much!

Your welcome, DarkRulerII. Instead of worrying, you should be very proud of yourself. =]

So I'm basically off to sign up for April test now, lol.

But mann, I'm pretty diappointed with my writing score in particular.

I usually am always scoring high 700s in writing, yet this time i got a 640!

...with an 8 on the essay part?!

This was my first time taking the SAT, so I'm wondering from those experienced SAT takers if this writing section was just wierd or was it just me??

I know a lot of people who have had the same problem with the Writing section. Personally, I felt Writing was my strongest area next to CR. But I ended up getting a 800 in CR and only a 730 in Writing (10 essay). Many of my friends have also found their Writing results very surprising.

Julina...exactly.

I got an 800 in math, my worst subject, and 740 in writing, my best.

The experimental writing was soooo easy...I wish that had counted!

Anyone remember any of the writing section q's that we couldve possibly gotten wrong? Someone of the one's that were discussed were number 14, last section, about the sewage. The antartica question with create and destroy, critical to, dispute. The one with people tapping into their energy supplies. And the one about the author making himself immortal by making another author immortal?
Well it seemed like there were only 3-4 writing qs that we all found a little confusing, so how is it that we got so many wrong?...

Dumb question. When you all say "curve", what exactly does that mean? How does that work?

Also, Julina - I got the exact same scores as you in CR/W, and felt the same way about them. Hmm.
