Here's an update on the USC intramural shuffleboard tournament: Greenpeace/Amnesty International has been replaced by an organization called The 2005-2006 University of Southern California Men's Varsity Basketball Team, which apparently wasn't doing anything else this month.

Oh dear. UNC lost to George Mason. My hubby (UNC alum) ain't going to be happy. He decided to go into work and do some miscellaneous stuff because he figured it wasn't a big game. Though, perhaps, it would be best he didn't see this one ...

trying wayyyyyy to hard there TourGuide. Not funny. at. all.

Sorry Diane- my d ruled out George Mason as she thought it was too much of a "commuter" school, but maybe now she'll give it a second look. My h is a SUNY Albany alumni- but he wasn't too surprised when they lost to U Conn. But the Great Danes did give U Conn a run for the money. As I write- U conn is only up by 2 points with 18 seconds left. Could there be another upset in the making??

UConn won!

Well, barely, but yes!!

George Mason seems to have been making an effort to establish itself as more than a commuter place. There are some good professors there and a performing arts venue that draws people from throughout the DC area.

OK, this isn't relevant. But I live in the area and it seems to be an up and coming sort of place. Still, I feel for my husband. Yesterday he bought the book about the rivalry between UNC and Duke basketball. http://tinyurl.com/pn7ej I guess all he can hope for is for Duke to lose. Then again, he has some sort of extreme attachment to the ACC, so maybe he wants them to win.

Diane:
Are you sure hubby didn't go to work to watch the game in private? :)

Nah, he's had no hesitation with watching every UNC game he can in my presence for over 20 years. He just seems to skip the ones he thinks won't be a contest.

He did just call and say he's coming home and is glad he didn't see the game. Poor baby ...

Picked Duke, Gonzaga, UConn, and Boston C a few days before the Madness started. UConn over Duke.

Luckily, none of them have dropped out...

Mine were: UNC, BC, Syracuse, UCLA. I also picked Gonzaga losing in the first round, lol.

Northern Iowa, Kentucky, Kansas State, Duke.

^^^Why didn’t you start this as a new thread? :-)

^I did, a while back, but it didn’t take, so I joined this one! By the way, Kansas State will ultimately win the tournament because Frank Martin’s glare will turn the other coaches and their players to stone. :-)

Gotcha. 10 char
