<p>Although I very much doubt the true importance of the “Short Takes” (unless one states something blatantly offensive), I would have ended the “free afternoon” comment after the F. Scott Fitzgerald response.</p>
<p>I believe these short “cakes” are for the sanity of ad coms who will be reading a bazillion long~semi-long essays, which I assume will be boring and tedious to a certain degree to say the least.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure that these short takes were specifically supposed to be 25 words or fewer. Did people just ignore this and go by characters available instead?</p>
<p>^I went by 25 words or less, and then when my answers still exceeded the character limit, I just re-did vocab/rearranged phrases so they fit both specifications.</p>
<p>I ignored it and went by character limits. I really doubt it matters too much, it’s really hard to go far over 25 words with such a small character limit. So even if you did go over the word count, I wouldn’t worry about it too much.</p>
