-volunteer care giver at local hospice home (1 year, 10 hr/ week)
-part time job at a nursing home (15 hr/week)</p>

<p>You’ve probably looked at Middlebury’s statistics page and know you are on the lower end to be competitive for that particular school. I think you need to increase your ACT to 30 or above and have ouststanding first term senior grades. Good luck.</p>
<p>You need stellar recommendations and to retake the ACT. Apply ED, your chance goes up from 8 to 15 %.I can’t give you a better chance than that.
I would also suggest you get some less competitive safeties that especially like socially active people, like MacAlaster or St Olaf. Lots of people go to Med school from those schools and I think you would get into both.
Hobart and William Smith has a nationally recognized debate team, and you would be an excellent candidate for them as well.</p>
<p>HWS also has an early assurance medical program. But be forewarned: a minute number of students have successfully met the requirements and were admitted to the participating medical schools. </p>
