Powerseller on Ebay?

If I'm a powerseller on Ebay, do I have to include those earnings when I fill out my FAFSA (Financial Aid info)?

It is dependent on your income, not on anything else, like where you sell or your status on that venue. If you have to file a Tax Return on it, then you have to file it with the school. My daughter made some money on the side one year that did not require a tax return, but she did list the money ($500, I think) on her financial aid form.

If you are selling things as a business (you buy things for resale and then sell them at a higher price on eBay), then yes, you must put your earnings on the FA forms. If you are using eBay as a large garage sale, selling things that you used and generally at a lower price than you paid for them, you do not have to put your "earnings" since you didn't actually make a profit.

Yes-- the key being "earnings." If you sell for profit, it's income, and has to be reported on FAFSA. Remember, though, that it's just your net that's income. So as a PS, you could sell 50K, but have 40K in expenses (cost of goods sold, eBay and PayPal fees, postage costs, computer expenses, mileage on the car, communication expenses, supplies, perhaps office in home), and your net would be only 10K. Usually, this gets worked out on Schedule C of your tax forms, and the net gets included as income on your 1040, and then transferred over to your FAFSA from there.
