PPSP opportunities?

Looking at the accelerated med programs, I've noticed that the most sought-after programs are the ones that not only give you guaranteed admission to the medical school, but also give you opportunities.

For instance, the Union BS/MD program has a semester where you can go around Europe with a doctor comparing the different healthcare systems of the different countries. Brown't PLME guarantees students a paid summer research experience. Some have guest lecturers and even the ability to do long-term shadowing.

Does Case's PPSP program have any special opportunities for its students?

billybobbyk,
I'm an undergrad jr in ppsp. We have a few events, they're thinking about adding more but there are other similar events available to all students for example there's are annual spring break trips to Amsterdam & Paris on Bioethics and a few other topics - there are some specifically on bioethics and others address other issues. There are also a number of paid summer research opportunities on campus. I've done paid research the last two summers. As far as shadowing you'd have to set it up yourself but UH & Rainbow are across the street from the science center and practically on - campus the Cleveland Clinic is right down the street. I've also been involved with Case EMS, a volunteer on campus EMT service that also organizes certification classes. So the moral of the story is the opportunities are there you just have to be a little more pro-active then what it sounds like at other schools. One upside to Case over Brown though is that Case offers merit scholarships where as Brown doesn't so there are lots of things to consider
