PR Math II question (ambiguous?)

The question asks:

Which of the following expresses the range of values of y=g(x), if (g)x = 5/x+4?

A. y ≠ 0

B. y ≠ 1.25

C. y ≠ -4

D. y > 0

E. y ≤ -1 or y ≥ 1

The answer the book has is A. But isnt E saying the exact same thing as A (all numbers except 0)

Thanx in advance

I assume it’s 5/(x+4). E is saying that y can’t be between -1 and 1. That’s not just 0. For example, -0.5, +0.2, etc.

yes your assumption is correct

and loool i completely forgot for a second there that integers arent the only numbers haha

I swear i sat down trying to figure this out forever lol

thnx though

also a thing to keep in mind… it is asking for hte range of values of Y (not x)… which is really important. if y = 0, then then it would be impossible for the equation to be true.
so if you were confused about E ) E. y ≤ -1 or y ≥ 1… you have to keep in mind that (like dream said) that its all the numbers and decimals between -1 and 1…
im taking Math 2 and Biology tomorrow… wish me luck and good luck to u!
