Practical Careers from G-Town Walsh School ...

Hi everyone -

I was admitted this winter to Georgetown's Walsh School of Foreign Service ... at the time it seemed like an interesting idea, but I question what kind of practical job could come from a degree in foreign service.

I would really appreciate it if anyone could give some example careers that one might be able to pursue w/ a BSFS.

Thanks,
Mike

Diplomatic, intelligence and national security careers with the US Government are the height of being practical. The jobs they offer give opportunities that exceed the private sector by a huge margin. They are among the few jobs left with defined benefit pensions, educational benefits that include full funding of graduate degrees while receiving your regular professional salary, leave bank benefits for pregnancy, salary differentials for international service etc. etc. etc… There is s reason five of the ten richest counties in the Untied States are in the Washington DC area.

thank you toast eater
