I read somewhere that it was for first generation students only, but that post was quite a few years ago. Is this still a requirement to be eligible the Pratt Scholarship currently or can non first generation students get it?

Some other questions:

  1. When do you find out if you get it or not?

  2. Are there Pratt scholarship awards for spring semester of freshman year or is it just a one time thing in the fall?

@Nootnoot Anybody is eligible now, not just first generation. My son would be 3rd generation and he got it. We found out yesterday when VT released Financial Aid/Merit Award packages on line. It is a one time $5,000 award divided equally between Fall and Spring of Freshman year ($2,500 per semester).
