Hello all, I'm a student from Wisconsin that's applied for the fall of 2012 term, and am majoring in film and the like (preferably the production field). I understand that you need a film portfolio to actually make it into the CSULB film school. Now, I've done a few things with film in my school, but since my school offers little to nothing for film (besides the odd documentary or two), and the lack of interest in aiding me by my peers (my schools full of those stuck up types) I've been left with little to use.

So, I've been wondering: will I have the opportunity to make/shoot films in the pre-film courses? Or is it mostly hands off, theory based classes? I don't mind trying to find a way to create my own films, but I'm unsure of the general attitude toward helping would-be film goers.

Any assistance or comment about this would be especially helpful!

Thanks in advance,
