Pre-med and Engineering

Although I am not sure where I will be going next year, I was wondering if it is possible to major in engineering and still manage a GPA good enough for top medical schools. Right now, I will either be attending Johns Hopkins, Northwestern or Cornell. My major will either be biomedical or chemical engineering.

Does anybody have any experience or know how successful engineers can be when applying to med school? I know that generally engineers' GPA is lower than people who major in like biology, but is it compensated for by the fact that it is engineering?

If you have been admitted to Engineering schools in those three Universities, you must be in the top 5% of your graduating class anyway.
Assuming you continue to apply yourself as you have in HS, maintaining your GPA should not be a problem I would think.
