Hello!
I was recently accepted to Bates, Hamilton, and U of R.

I think my top choices are between Bates and Hamilton. I would just like if anyone could add some input into their premed programs and social atmosphere. I'm kind of leaning towards Hamilton but I don't want to completely shut out Bates. I also won't be visiting both colleges due to financial reasons. So my decision has to be done from what I see online and current students.

Extra: My financial aid at Hamilton would be 1700 dollars more than at Bates. I know it's not a lot but financial aid is very important to me (and the aid is really needed).

Bates and Hamilton are both great schools. I don’t think you could go wrong with either, so all else being equal FA may be a logical tie breaker. just make sure you’re comparing apples to apples, IOW that the proportion of grants to loans/work study is the same. The critical number will be the debt with which you graduate, but don’t forget to factor in any difference in the amount you’re expected to contribute from WS. Hamilton publishes an average student debt upon graduation of “between $17,000 and $20,000.” Bates says their average is $17,375.

@jkeil911 At bates I would have to pay 1,800 with a WS of 1,800. At Hamilton, I would have to pay 3,500 and a WS of 2,000. The amount I would have to pay also includes books, fees, and travel expenses.
