Would anyone like to share their pre-medical experiences? I'm considering applying there ED in 2015, and I'd like to know what it's going to be like.

Hey, I’m pre-med, so I’ll tell you a bit about my experience so far, and can answer any questions you have.

The science courses are tough - no two ways around that. There isn’t much homework, but the tests do require a significant amount of time spent studying. The upside is that med schools recognize that WashU gives one of the top pre-med educations in the country, and WashU’s placement rates show this. The advising and tutoring quite good, and you’ll be able to find the answer to nearly any question or problem you might have. The atmosphere is very collaborative, rather than competitive, and I think that is the strongest selling point for WashU. You’ll always find somebody to work with, and there’s very little “me vs. you” mentality.

Hope that helped a little! Feel free to ask anything else you want to know!

You should go to Pre Med Day! Im going on tuesday and im soo excited. :D:D:D I think their is another one later in the summer, but I am not 100% sure.

Excellent! Learned a lot about the Med School, how to get in, and about the program… Free food too Never knew doctors were so funny.

Do you know if the commitee writes recommendations for all applicants? How many students total over last few years applied and were accepted to U.S. med schools. I can’t seem to find this info.
prehealth handbook on the pre health website has a chart with med school admissions stats based off MCAT and GPA
They went through the chart @ee1025 was referencing at the recent pre-med day. It was comforting to know how devoted the pre-health advising team is to improving every applicant’s chances for med school. Here’s the link if you were curious http://prehealth.wustl.edu/documents/handbook.pdf (page 21)
@Gh0st3737, is this PDF link protected? I’m getting a 404.
