Which one would BEST prepare me for MCAT? If you don't like the question, don't answer. I like all sciences so its not like i'm forcing myself to do a major that will only help with MCAT. I enjoy every aspect of science. Right now, I am leaning towards Biochemistry (Medicinal Chemistry) and Molecular Biology (Cells, Genetics, Developmental Bio). Let me know if either of the two I am leaning towards are not helpful! Thanks!

MCAT is not a content test, it is a clinical reasoning test. As long as you have basic bio, chem, orgo, physics (with genetics, biochem, physiology being helpful) you’ll do fine.

No one would “best prepare you”
There is a physics, chemistry, biology section on the test.

What is much more important are the classes you take, not what you major in. No one will tell you “biology is better” or “Chemistry is better” because that is simply false.

Are you forgetting that PART of your application is your MCAT,score but another crucial aspect is your GPA. Sure you can go into college trying to do a major you think will “be best” but it will catch up to you and hopefully you will switch majors before your GPA suffers.

After the general classes, the classes you need to complete your major are irrelevant to the MCAT. For ex: for a Chemistry major you need to take physical chemistry (not on the MCAT).

Open your eyes. It really isn’t all about the MCAT.

Thank you very much. Makes sense but I am not trying to do a major that “best will”, I am seriously willing to conquer any major listed about because those are things I am really compassionate about and will commit myself to. I feel that since I would enjoy any of those majors, I might as well choose the one that will be interesting to me while BEST preparing me for the MCAT’s because Medicine in exactly what I want to practice/study in life. THANKS!

Biochemistry was one of the ones that I was leaning most towards because of its rigor and content. To me it seems like Biochemistry (Medicinal Chemistry) seem like my best bet. Thanks. Do you guys think that too???
