Pre-Med SAT scores

Hi, I’m planning to apply to Baylor University and major in music education while on a pre-med track. Does Baylor have a minimum SAT score to get into the pre-med program? Right now, I have a 1650 (Reading: 580, Math:540, Writing:530) and in the top 10%. If I was to apply using this score, would I have a reasonable chance of getting into the pre-med program, or should I wait and take the next SAT, which will not fall under early admission. Auditions for the music school aren’t until the next year, so this doesn’t affect that as much as it affects getting into the pre-med program.

No min SAT. Just meet with prehealth adviser and and start signing up for classes.

You will need to take all your core classes the sciences are covered under the premed stuff plus your music major classes plus these pre-med classes:

Freshman year:

BIO 1305 Biology I
BIO 1306 Biology I Lab

MTH 1321 Calculus I (you will have to take MTH 1320 basic algebra first as your SAT is not high enough for this class)
Statistics 2381
PHP/MH1106¹ Pre Health
PHP 1105¹ Pre Health

Sophmore year:

CHE 3331Organic Chemistry I

PHP 2105 Pre Health

Junior Year:

PHY 1420 General Physics I
PHY 1430 General Physics

MCAT Prep

Busy but doable with summer school and 18-21 hours a semester I am in a similar program at a different school.

Regardless of what path you choose to pursue, you’ll really want to work on those test scores. Your odds are great as it sits. Your SAT falls with the bottom 25% of admitted students at Baylor. If Baylor is your first choice, you’d be well served to apply Single Choice, Early Action.

Best wishes!
