Hi, I am currently an interested high school junior interested in pre med programs, or something of that nature, and was wondering what my chances may be.

I am currently waiting on my second SAT score report, but my first is as follows:
Critical Reading: 610
Math: 650
Writing: 600

I have a GPA of 4.229 and my class rank is 12/427. I am involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including Student Council where I have served as Executive and Secretary, and am now serving as President. I am involved in the Spanish Honor Sociey, National Honor Society, and numerous clubs. I am also a boy scout and earned a black belt in Taekwondo.

I am interested to see how you think I compare to others and what my chance in these types of programs may be.

Thank you!

I also forgot to mention I am a four year member of my high school swim team!

I am currently enrolled in AP/Honors classes, and have recieved straight A’s all 3 years of high school, including AP classes.

I have taken:
AP English Language and Comp
AP US History

Honors:
Chemistry
Biology
Algebra
Precalculus

and will also be taking the following next year (senior year)

AP Biology
AP Calculus
Honors English Literature
Physics
Peer Leadership (Program I have been accepted into, is also a class. )

I don’t understand what you want.

I was thinking of a pre med program…possibly NYU chances?

NYU, Emory, Hopkins, UVa are all good ones.

Try an SAT prep course/study any way you can.

Try to spice up your EC’s and do something spectacular and you’d be a good candidate.

So my sats aren’t good enough?

For Columbia, your SAT right now will hurt you. But I know from experience it’s possible to bring them up 1-200 points per sitting.

What are some reasonable choices because i don’t think I’m ivy level

oh sorry i thought you had asked about columbia! reading way to many threads ahaha

if you get your SAT up, you’d be a good candidate

definitely apply to reaches and a few ivies

I think NYU could be maybe a high match

apply to reaches? what are reaches? And if my next SAT score report is in the same range what are some options?
