Pre-Screen Results list for class of 2024

I’m just a little obsessed with the process right now as I toggle back and forth between my work and this website  My D is not worried at all and would be fine with a BA program if she doesn’t get any offers. She’s a dancer 14 years, and has done all the plays and musical theater with HS and a couple of community shows. She has a nice voice but hasn’t done a lot of singing (2 years private lessons) and she’s not a belter so I worry what chance she has. She’s been academically accepted several places, so I just need to chill out and keep reading your words of wisdom! Thanks all for your perspective.

BOCO…

@24mtjourney - congrats for your DD!!! Were you in the 1st dance or 2nd dance call?

First. Flying out for OCU next Friday. Loved their summer MT program.

Well for those of you like us that are still waiting on CCM… I have a good friend who submitted for them LAST YEAR. They got into their dream school so they ended up taking CCM off their list before they even received a result. Today, they received an email saying CCM would like to see them for an audition. I hope we hear sooner then that! ?.

Has anyone scheduled an MT audition with NYU in Chicago yet? Any clue what hotel they use for auditions?

@HAHCx4 - omg, I have emailed them twice now because I am waiting since August - they keeps saying they have all my materials lol - I know it is a huge reach, so I am not overly concerned but it is becoming comical!

hello there! does anyone know if you have to fill out all of the forms/pay the $60 for a prescreen result from CCM?

@legitmt We have everything in except the two release forms and we paid the $60 and still haven’t heard from CCM, so I’m wondering if there’s some magic portal I haven’t found with the golden chalice I’m supposed to snatch from between the rubied eyes of the crystal dragon. Because that’s how I’m feeling these days.

@Dance3Looks3 you have to rub the belly three times while hopping on one foot and spelling your name backwards! If you mess up it’s like candyland and you have to slide back and start all over!

My D has set up her NYU Chicago audition. They are located at the W Chicago Lakeshore 644 N Lakeshore Drive.

@MTActing - Thank you! Trying to figure out logistics! ?

running into conflicts…any thoughts in Write State, they do not attend unifieds and I am not sure what to do.
also Emerson is a top contender do we go unifieds or on-campus or does it not matter?

Anyone hear from Viterbo?

@MTorBust2020 how long did it take to hear from Elon and Shenandoah?

@MTActing check the “Be a Bronc” portal. Apparently they do not email you with additional or missing items they need. I just went there and found that they had additional questions after we submitted the prescreen. Music teacher names and if he would consider another another major is he doesn’t pass the prescreen.

I have been trolling for a few years and thought I should finally contribute. My D is applying for BFA in Musical Theater. She wants bigger college experience ideally in a warmer climate. Not applying to many prominent programs because they are just too expensive. As you can see from our list, all but 1-2 are private/expensive. She applied academically to all schools for early action and submitted prescreens in late September/early October. Can’t attend Moonifieds because she is the lead in her fall high school musical. Attending Chicago Unifieds. She has applied academically and submitted prescreens, where necessary, to the following schools:

–Sam Houston State–audition scheduled, waiting on academic acceptance
–Texas State–audition scheduled and accepted academically
–TCU–waiting on audition, accepted academically
–Texas Tech–audition scheduled, accepted academically
–Oklahoma University(OU)–waiting on audition, accepted academically
–Florida State–no response
–UCF–audition scheduled, accepted academically
–Indiana–audition scheduled, accepted academically
–Ball State–audition scheduled, accepted academically
–Muhlenberg–no audition required, accepted academically
–Rider–Audition scheduled, waiting on academic acceptance
–Temple–Audition scheduled, waiting on academic acceptance
–Elon–no response
–Wisconsin SP–Audition scheduled, Accepted Academically

We are fortunate…all yes at this point or waiting. Hope your audition and application season is wildly successful and all your dreams come true!
