Is it possible to be premed and have a good social life?

not that I'm a particular expert in the subject, but if you choose a major that corresponds with a lot of the pre-med requisites, than you'd probably have more free time than if you chose, say, a classics major.

Any major can be a "pre med" major.

All a med school wants to see is your ability to absorb lots of information, solve lots of problems, think on your own, and be able to do that in quantity.

Now, I'm not saying women's studies majors have precisely the same chance as someone who did math/computational biology/independent research, but I am saying that no matter what your major, if you plan on applying to med school, you need a killer GPA and really nice MCAT scores (Shoot for 40!)

You can be working on Nobel Prize worthy material and have a good social life - you'd just have to have the time management skills of an automaton. lol But really,

So long as you put work before pleasure (which is a lot harder than the adage sounds - but possible), you'll always have quality time for yourself and others without the looming specter of work to be done.

Is it possible to be premed and have a good social life? YESSSS

It is possible and you should have a social life while being premed. Med school is one step up from premed in terms of difficulty and rigor so you shouldn't be feeling uber stressed out or studying 24 hours/day while in premed. Save that for med school.
