Prep Book for AP Psychology

What is the best prep book for AP Psychology? I plan to self-study it and take the exam this May. Any suggestions?

Barron’s is the best one.

^ Yep. Definitely Barron’s.

The one with the CD or the one without?

CD or not, either version is good. It’s just that the one with the CD provides you with two additional practice exams. To be honest, I don’t you would need the one with the CDrom. the other one is good enough because the AP psychology exam is riduculously easy, practically a joke from what I heard. I’ve heard of people who read the Barrons a few nights before the exam and got 4s and 5s. I’m self studying AP Psychology myself with the Barrons prepbook with no CD and I think it’s more than enough.

Wow, that’s great. Are you making flashcards for the vocabulary? Many CCers seem to have done that for AP Psych.

Actually no, I bought the Barrons AP Psychology flashcards that are supposed to accompany the book. However, from what I’ve heard, it’s better to make your own flashcards since the process of creating them helps you store all the terms in your long-term memory. I bought the flashcards already made because I’m too lazy to make flashcards of all the terms myself, plus I have little time because I’m self-studying 3 other AP exams(plus another Ap I’m taking the class for). So if you have less of a AP load and more spare time in your schedule, yes, you should make your own flashcards. But if your schedule is loaded like mine, it would better to just buy the Barrons flashcards because there is a lot of terms you need to memorize and make cards for.

Regarding creating your own flashcards, at the very least, you should attempt to write out your own cards for the words you have the hardest time committing to memory. That way you can save yourself the work of writing out the easiest ones.

I don’t have a heavy workload (I’m only taking AP Human Geography as a freshman) so I have enough time to make flashcards. Good luck on your other APs!

Making flash cards is much more helpful :)
