OK…lets return to what we have been tracking on this thread for a longtime, sexual misconduct lawsuit stories
I have no basis to comment on the specifics of what you said your daughter said her teacher said in her class, except to say that, in my experience, these things are not taught in the way you have represented.
But if in this case it was an incompetent teacher, then all the more reason to normalize teaching about such things as part of the regular curriculum so that the quality and uniformity of the presentation can be improved. In other words, more focus and better focus on such issue rather than less.
Many teachers aren’t good at teaching math either, but an incompetent math teacher isn’t necessarily an indication of anything to do with the subject matter has “run amuck.” It is an indication that we need better trained math teachers.
No news here….nothing to see here….move along…
Hey, don’t use the words “Prep School” as click bate, Politico! Why is there a photo of Georgetown Day in there? Read to find out. Other DCMV schools are mentioned.
All boarding schools are prep schools; not all prep schools are boarding schools.
Online sleuths quickly reported that the exclusive Houston school where (Cruz) sends his kids also has Kendi’s books in the library and language about gender identity in its diversity statements.
SIDESHOW TED
@SkiEurope - you misunderstood….I know THAT!! I was drawing attention to the fact that Politico put the photo of the Georgetown Day school sign in the top of their gallery as “click bait”……or if you’re a mom Queen Bee in the DC area prep school scene, it would be clique-bait.
Still not getting it, so I’ll move on.
They are eating it up on the DC private schools boards (which are VICIOUS and on which several of us local folks (non queen-bee division!) always try to steer genuine BS-curious folks over HERE, where so much genuine love and care is always shown!! lol)
There is actually quite a lot of diff between GPrep and Gtown Day… but that’s neither here nor there. The article is hilarious regardless. Thanks for sharing!
Positive News ….
For some levity… Do the kids at your prep school dress this way:
Lol.
Nope
It was the equestrian get-ups at Choate that always got me. Not a stable in sight. And the moms in the tennis get-ups who were not at the school to play.
This topic reminds me, though, of a comment I made a while back while enjoying an artic martini over on the Sinner’s Alley thread:
Tonight’s pour helped me over the discovery that our son never even took the tags off the three lovely pair of iconic preppy shorts we bought him eight years ago during his freshman year at Choate. How did we make this tragic discovery? We found them wadded up in a box marked “High School Crap” while we were helping him pack for his move to his first Army duty station next month. His explanation? “Really, mom? Whales? Lobsters? Sailboats? Those were just too ridiculous to wear” — he said while carefully folding his SpongeBob beach towel and placing it in the box with his brigade of plastic Army men for shipping off to Ft. Gordon.
Fashion??? Here??? Dang…if we didn’t have a dress code, I feel like everyone would exclusively wear sweatpants and hoodies 24/7
Most likely day schools. BSs are mostly casual.
I’m surprised how short the skirts/dresses are in many of the school marketing videos. How do you pick up a dropped pencil without mooning the class?
Bend from the knees. Or ask someone to pick it up.
Bend & Snap
My daughter says you a.) always wear booty shorts underneath. Also, code word is ‘moon’ to let someone know their backpack has caused their dress to ride up in back.
