preparation prior SAT tutoring

Hi :)

i am an international student currently in 10th grade, wishing to go to college after i graduate from high-school.
I am very strong in math though my reading and my English vocab are pretty week compared to Americans (i go to a non English speaking high school). I want to start prepping for the SAT in a few months.
Any thing i can do in the mean while to help improve my english? reading alot? memorizing word lists?

thanks for any replies :)
and please don't be harsh on me it's my first post!

bump ??? :(

I’d recommend that you read as much as you can in English (and try to read higher level stuff, if you can). It’ll help expand your vocabulary, if you read things with a more expansive vocabulary, but it’ll also help with your reading comprehension and grammar.

I agree with baktrax, but with one qualification- make sure you don’t pick too high of a reading level to start off with, because if the level is too difficult you will just be confused even more.

I think you should take a practice SAT just to see where you’re at first. See what questions you’re missing on each section, and tailor how much time you spend studying based on that.

Thank u all
what vocabulary lists should i use?

Unless I’m mistaken, no one in this thread has suggested vocab lists.

The advice you’ve been given above is wise and following it will benefit you.

“Memorizing” word lists generally doesn’t correlate to higher scores.

thanks a lot :)
