prepare for premed school

hey guys

im going to be a junior, and i have started my college search. i have noticed that the majority of colleges offering premed schools are liberal arts schools. i wanted to know what liberal arts courses i should take. i am taking the highest math and science courses as well, and senior year i am taking AP Bio, whereas this year i am taking physics (no AP physics course are offered). i have taken (all advanced courses) Geometry, Algebra 1+2, this year i am taking precalc, and next year AP Calc. Hopefully I am all set in the areas of math and science. i toko two years of band/music, am heavily involved in music, and am taking theatre and public speaking, which will hopefully help out in the liberal arts area. But the dilemna arrives when i look to english. thus far i have taken the highest possible english courses, but junior year i am taking an honors 2 english course instead of the higher end honors 1 english course. how heavily will this affect my chances of getting into a liberal arts school? my grades werent very good in honors 1 english (C+/B-) so i opted to drop down for junior year. also, i am taking AP history. I am supposed to be in the top 10% of my grade, but im very insecure about my gpa (a little above a 3.42 :-/), and am hoping that taking an easier english course will beter my grades and help my gpa. my average grades in my courses are B/B+, but these are the grades without factoring in the weight with the honors courses. can anyone please tell me if my grades are close to being good enough? will my class rank help? how does my liberal arts area and science area look thus far? and also, any other information regarding premed schools and how to best prep for them would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

P.S. Anyone know any good smaller schools for premed? Thanks.

I for one am a junior too, but a few people I know have been accepted to BA/MD programs. I would start looking at Rice and Boston University and Penn state for these in my opinion and the opinions of others attending these programs that I know sa that it is a better experience than battling through a extremely rigorous liberal arts pre-med program.
