Hey everyone–
I’m in my last week of classes, have 2 exams tomorrow and 4 finals within the next 9 days. There’s still studying, homework, and long-term projects to be done, but I’m so overwhelmed by everything that I’m often unable to even start, which just adds to the stress knowing that I have so much to do. Anyone have tips for how to overcome this to get stuff done?
Make a list of everything you have to do then reorder everything based on priority. Cross things off as you go. Get up each morning and do what you can that day, go to bed at the end of the day , get up, do it again, for 9 days. It’s only 9 days. You can do this.
Start a countdown calendar to remind yourself that it will all be over in X days. I have over a month left, so I get wanting to be done. Just power through one day at a time.
I found that making a physical calendar (e.g. on a whiteboard) with due dates helps. Then I work backwards from each of the due dates/dates of exams and mark down what I need to do on each day in order to get everything done by the time it’s due. It really breaks it all up, so you end up having 3 things to do each day rather than 30 things to do in 10 days, and makes it much easier to get started and cross things off your list.
This is your first post? Hang up and get to work!
This semester, I had three finals, each 2-3 days apart from each other. I devoted my time to making sure I had mastered the content from the closest final. So 2 Saturdays ago, I had my biostatistics final so I spent three days going over practice tests and semester exams. Ended up getting a 95.5 on that one. I kinda wish I spent more time with Physics because that cost me an A- in the class. I only had a day and a half to study for my biology final, so I crammed like I never did before, and by some stroke of luck, I got a 100 on the final and an A in the class. I’m telling this because I organized my finals studying into 2-3 day periods where I would just focus on only one course.
You should break up your workload into manageable pieces. I did that and it got me the grades I wanted for the semester. Be sure to make a checklist and prioritize what’s most important. Also, don’t stress yourself out. The worst thing you can do is panic. Take this one day at a time, and if you need to, take a break and get right back to it.
Hope this helped and best of luck! You got this
