Preprofessional

Do premed and prelaw applicants whose applications display a preprofessional stance have any admissions advantage? That is, all else being equal, would the application of a premed applicant who volunteered at a hospital shine brighter than that of a premed applicant who volunteered at a library?

I don't think it matters in any case. Show what you are passionate about, whether it be law, medicine, art, or something else.

I don't think it matters where you volunteer. You don't have to volunteer at all if volunteering is not your "thing". You do have to be passionate about something, and be able to show it in your application.

I don't think that pre-professionalism will either help or hurt you.
