Prereqs at CC affecting my chances of getting into med school of choice

Ok that makes sense. Meaning I would need to take at least 2 writing-intensive courses at university.

doesn’t matter if you take pre reqs at Cc. In California, to transfer, you have to have to take pre reqs

Calif is a bit different. The CC to UC TAG program is very accepted because the Calif CCs are very good. So, the Calif SOMs readily accept CC credits. However, the SOMs across the US maybe be more judgemental about CC prereq classes.

That said, no SOM likes to see a univ student taking CC prereqs on the side.

The MCAT is the great equalizer for medical school applications. It will give the the admission departments an idea of what you really learned, your standardized test taking skills, how you compare to the other applicants, and lastly your 1st year chances of passing medical school.

That being said, I have urged my D to complete her pre-med courses at a CC while in high school. She can decide in college whether to repeat those courses as part of her presumed engineering major.

As for the OP, get through CC first, complete college second and then worry about medical school application. How do you know that JH is the place for you? How do you know you would ever get in? You have way too much to worry about right now than something 4-6 years away.
