Don't see much on CC about Prescott College (Arizona) and College of the Atlantic (Maine). I know they are small, alternative, and emphasize experiential learning. In some ways, they might be a good fit for S2, though I don't know too much about them. Does anyone have any experience with these schools, positive or negative? Any students, faculty, or parents out there? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

The book “Cool Colleges” has a section on Prescott.
My husband’s HS friend went there and was very happy. He’s had a career as a river rafting guide since then, and it seems like that’s the kind of person (outdoorsy, active, hands-on) that is right for the school.

oh sweetness - I used to spend my summers at COA and went to high school in Ellsworth!!!

COA is pretty peculiar - it’s a good school, and the students there are pretty cool (i.e. don’t seem to spend their lives just like smoking pot and stuff), but as I recall it has only one major and is of course very small. They have this awesome shrine thing though, which was my fave back in the day
