Prescreen Time Frame

What is the usual time frame in which most people hear back from their colleges about their prescreens?
I’ve sent in prescreens for vocal performance to Rice, Eastman, and Northwestern–all regular decision–over a month ago and have received no response. Is that normal? I saw a thread that said by this time last year, they had heard back from Rice and Eastman for regular decision. Do certain majors take longer, or is it a standard time frame…I mean is it more complicated than watching a video and going yes…so in a very long way I’m asking when should I expect to hear back from my colleges?

I think you’ll find out soon! Last year’s prescreen looks like this for vocal performance - Rice notified on 12/19, Eastman on 12/27 and Northwestern on 1/15. So that’s just for a guideline

There is a pre-screen thread so you can keep up with results. Typically between mid December and late January is when they come out. And yes it is different times for different school and instruments. Be aware that the faculty are listening to the pre screens during a busy time of year for them. Juries, finals, and grading are in December so be patient

My D is waiting on the same three, and had submitted by Nov 1. Have heard from a lot of others, but these three are still outstanding. Good luck!

Rice (FAQ’s) said they’ll announce before winter break and their semester ends tomorrow. That said, I checked last years thread and It looks like they announced the day after the last day of the semester. My guess is everyone will hear on Rice in the next 48 hours. My guess …

We are still waiting to hear from Eastman (composition and jazz sax) but my daughter’s friend just got his invite from Eastman yesterday on bass trombone so they are starting to trickle out.

We are waiting on Rice, Eastman, NEC and quite a few others, too.

For everyone waiting on Rice, relative to my post from yesterday, I just took a second look at their academic calendar and while today is the last day of classes, “Winter recess” technically doesn’t appear to start until the 25th (students done but faculty still in session?). So I guess that means their results will be sometime in the next week.

Rice/Shepherd just reported this morning.
