presidential scholarship candidate

does anyone know that if you are nominated to be the yearly presidential scholarship candidate, your chance of getting in Princeton increases?

I knew that. But it’s not causal.

Also I doubt you would have a good chance of getting into Princeton based on your inability to ask a coherent question.

The art/music kids were NOMINATED, the other 2000 were INVITED based on the highest ACT/SAT scores in their state and they probably applied to Princeton also.

So I would swagger to guess that the only ones with a leg up are the art/music kids. But either way…congrats for being a candidate for the Presidential Scholars Award.

Saying you are a presidential scholar just reiterates the fact that you got a high SAT score, so I would guess that it in itself does not increase your chances of admission to Princeton. Congratulations on becoming a candidate though, I am a candidate as well.

I don’t think it inherently increases your chances. All it means is that you scored really high on your SAT.

I scored a 1590 :(.

I don’t think being a candidate increases your chances, since as others have already said, it is merely a reflection of your SAT score. I think ultimately being one of the 141 presidential scholars would, but unfortunately, that comes out after college decisions have already been made and therefore would also have no effect.
