Pressure, Majors, Live at Home

Hey, so I'm in a sticky predicament.

1) UT Austin's deadline for transfer admissions is March 1 and it's already February 14. They want 30 credit hours, but I think I only have 25. I just started looking up the guides and everything, but there's a lot I have to do before the deadline and I feel so pressured to get in. My GPA is actually pretty good (3.8) but am I right in thinking they won't accept me because I don't have enough credit hours?

2) I live at home and mostly take care of the baby/cook and I'm currently attending the Art Institute of Austin as a Media Arts & Animation student. Since it's a proprietary college, my dad's side of the family disapproves. They want me to transfer to UT Austin and major in MIS. After looking it up, it sounds extremely dull and not so relevant to my interests. I know some people will say "go for what you're interested in" but then I risk the wrath of my dad's side of the family, and I've already offended them once when I was younger and more foolish.

By the way, community college isn't an option for me.

Thanks for any tips and advice.
