I am just curious. How well-known is Cal Poly outside of California in terms of Graduate School or getting a job? Also is it more well-known than the Mid-Tier UC’s such as Davis, SB, and Irvine?

only engineering ....

and architecture

Not really just those majors. I'm involved in politics and most people I met in DC, Pennsylvania, etc. seemed to know about Cal Poly.

just stay in California...

honestly, anyone who is really interested in engineering schools in America probably knows Cal poly.

True, I just wanted to know whether I had other options for the location of my first job other than California or whether I could get into a good grad school located elsewhere.

If you're going to be going OOS for your first job, I'd think more likely than not your prospective employer would be coming to you on campus at a job fair or something.

It depends on whether the people you meet are CC addicts or not ;)

Well, I live in Seattle and I know that it's a good school! And my science teacher was wearing a Cal Poly t-shirt one day..random but yeah lol :P

Cal Poly's engineering program is well regarded outside California. As is the architecture program. Maybe even agriculture.

Same responses as everyone else. Cal Poly has a reputation outside of California in a few fields.
