Princeton and Yale are the prettiest, in that order.

I actually think Yale is prettier than Princeton, but that's just me.

Cornell has the best nature around it imo

I just love Yale.
Princeton and Brown seem to be nice too.
Cornell, however, seems to be a bit depressive, but that's just me...

In the summer, Princeton and Cornell no doubt. Yale is not pleasant at all, not the architecture nor the area around the university.

Funny that you'd say that:

[quote]
Yale is noted for its harmonious yet fanciful largely Collegiate Gothic campus as well as Eero Saarinen's Ingalls Rink ... Many of Yale's buildings were constructed in the neo-Gothic architecture style

[quote]
The quadrangles of the main campus [at the University of Chicago] feature a botanical garden and neo-Gothic buildings constructed mostly out of limestone in the late 19th century. ... Notable examples include the Laird Bell Law Quadrangle by *Eero Saarinen *...

IMHO, Yale's architecture is beautiful. (Funny, though, that you'd criticize it, when much of it is similar to Chicago's and some at each were designed by the same person!)

Columbia as the least pretty? I think it's one of the prettiest! I haven't seen Princeton or Brown, so I can't really include those on my list but I think it would go:
Yale
Columbia
Dartmouth
Harvard
Penn
Cornell

When it comes to campus aesthetics, there are two groups of folks - Gothic lovers and Gothic haters. The former think Yale is heaven, the latter will never like it. I happen to love Gothic now and think Yale's campus is awesome, but when I was a teenager it intimidated me and I found it depressing.

Princeton/ Dartmouth

Harvard

Brown

Cornell

Yale

Columbia

Penn

columbia one of the prettiest???? Have you seen Dartmouth or Princeton?? Don't understand how Yale is even being considered. Its nice, but not THAT nice.

From what I've seen, I'd rank them
Cornell
Princeton
Columbia
Penn

I saw Cornell and Princeton in the dead of winter, Columbia in the summer, and go to Penn. If you take out surrounding areas (which is tough to visualize) I might put Penn above Columbia.

Depressive?!?? The most amazing sunsets on the East Coast? Depressive?!?!?!?!?!

Yale, Brown, Harvard.

(Those are the only three I visited, so yea)

IMO

Princeton

Yale

Dartmouth

P.S. How can anyone put harvard on the list hahaha. It's one of the most bleak, dilapidated campuses in the middle of a shoddy neighborhood.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but I'll bite...Cornell and then Columbia. Princeton isn't really that pretty, but it's nice.

Princeton

Brown

Columbia

Cornell

Penn

Yale

Harvard

Dartmouth

Yale then Princeton.

ive only seen penn and stanford as far as college campuses go, but i thought penn was gorgeous. i can understand that the surroundings aren't that pretty but the quad, perelman quad and college hall are beautiful. and locust walk is definitely pretty as well.

I'll give you bleak and dilapidated. I brought a number of people through Harvard when I was studying there and they all said the same basic thing without prompt: "Wow. This place is really depressing. Not nearly as impressive as I'd thought it'd be."

Shoddy neighborhood, though? Harvard Square? Really? More bookstores than any other neighborhood in the country, great theatres, museums, crazy people yelling about Jesus... perhaps you are suburban or rural in background and perceive anything "urban" as shoddy. It's a good neighborhood.

From the ones I've seen:

Cornell

Princeton

Yale

Columbia

UPenn

Harvard

Never been to Brown or Dartmouth.

Princeton
Cornell
Dartmouth
Yale
Brown
Harvard
Columbia
Penn
