Scores/Stats

ACT: 29 baseline without studying. Planning at least twice more (registered for December and mandatory ACT through school in April)

GPA: 4.0 uw, 4,5 w

Course load: All advance/Honors, dual credit, or AP classes besides mandatory Iower level classes (I.e. theology) APHG - 5, APUSH - 4, AP Lang - 4 (AP Scholar). I’m taking AP World History, dual enrollment/credit (DC) public speaking, DC Precal, AP Seminar, theology, advanced/honors physics, and AP Psych.

My possible majors are neuroscience, neurobiology, basically anything brain based. I also plan on doing a pre-med track.

The schools I’m looking at are UChicago, Northwestern, Vandy, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn State, Villanova, Loyola Chicago, Purdue, and Indiana University.

If you’re curious about anything else, feel free to ask. If you also want to recommend any other schools, please do so.

((ALSO MY ACT WAS A BASELINE, NOT MY FINAL. PLAN TO TAKE IT AT LEAST TWO-THREE MORE TIMES))

Just remember, you won’t be able to list all these activities on your applications (10 max on the Common App)

Overall, the best thing you can do is to improve that ACT score to 33+ in order to have a chance at UChicago and many of the other colleges on your list. Given that you are a junior, you still have a lot of time. Right now, it looks like you are on the right track!

ACT: 29 baseline without studying.<<<<<<<<<<<

You mean a real test? You sat a real test with no studying? That is not very smart.

I took it as a sophomore so I could see what’ve i needed to work on before I spent money on test prep for subjects I don’t need to work on.

ACT score jumps of significance can result in flagging, as you need a pretty big jump for your list to the 33 plus mark it was not at all clever. It is a shame kids are not given more guidance. Anyone can sit a cold practice test in their dining room with an ACT booklet and a clock and an ornery parent.
