According to mine I got a Pell grant for the summer. Does that mean I won't get one for Fall/Spring? Or how does that work?

Pell grant amounts are limited each school year, up to 5,550 for each school year(according to their website), the last semester of the 2011-2012 school year is the summer one, school years start each fall, which means, the Pell grant you get in summer B wont affect the one you get for the 2012-2013, if you’re qualified for the Pell grant, I’m guessing you’ll probably get it. It’s not guaranteed that you’ll get it, but they are different school years based on different tax years. If your EFC is low enough you’ll probably get it, but the amount will vary.

It’s weird that you got a Pell Grant for Summer B 2012, the government canceled the Pell Grant Program for Summer.

Maybe it’s because they’re treating the summer like a regular semester since MrUmbrella is probably only going to attend one semester for the 2011-2012 school year(He’s a freshman isn’t he?). I mean, can’t students opt to take like a summer/spring (not talking about IA) and still get regular aid since it’s still only 2 semesters of the school year? but if MrUmbrella took 3 semesters in a year, then MrUmbrella wouldn’t get the summer Pell grant.

Of course that’s just my assumption, since I highly doubt that MrUmbrella would lie about something so pointless to lie about.

I just received a pell grant for summer B, my first freshman term, for about $1000. So I guess they are doing pell grants for summer

My ISIS account says I don’t have any financial aid awards at this time for 2011-2012…can everyone see their Summer B awards already? :(

No. My son’s is still only showing fall/spring even though he indicated that he would be attending this summer. Hope they get to it soon. I’d like to plan.

Im guessing that there is little to no funding for Summer B, because I received around the same as MyPaperEater and my EFC is zero. It won’t even cover a third of the costs.

Yeah my EFC is 0 as well and that’s what my award was too. At least tuition is covered with that, one less worry on my mind.
