@nostalgicNOLA - question… are you a parent? alum ? current student? I am a parent of a recent grad (class of 2017) and my nephew is a current senior. With FallenChemist no longer with us, I am trying to support the new applicants as much as I can. CC was a huge help when my son applied and I have made several “real life” Tulane friends through CC.
nostalgicNOLA said he/she graduated last spring. Are you working as an adcomm, @nostalgicNOLA
My DS and his fiancée (both Tulane grads) were back in NOLA this past weekend. They miss it.
@nostalgicNOLA thank you the information. My daughter is applying ED and happy to report she just received an email from her interviewer this afternoon. She had been checking spam routinely. Thanks again.
@jozuko - I am a Tulane alum who misses Tulane/NOLA way too much! I too remember how beneficial having FallenChemist was and I hope to be a resource for prospective students and their parents. I know there are plenty of people on CC who appreciate the information/knowledge that you (and others) provide and I look forward to being a beneficial resource to the CC community as well.
I am looking forward to providing helpful information while being part of a community that shares the same love for Tulane!
I welcome any and all questions. As you can see from my previous posts, I will do whatever I can to obtain the most accurate information that makes the college process more transparent and stress-free!
As an FYI… history tidbit— I first gave Fallenchemist a lot of his information when his daughter was applying to Tulane (when my son was a freshman and a DHS). My DS lent her his sleeping bag when she stayed over in JL (sleeping bag never to be seen again, lol). A a Tulane alum, FC became quite active in helping other applicants, once his daughter matriculated. Nice that others want to continue to pay it forward. The best way to be helpful, IMO, is with accurate info, or to be clear when something is not confirmed.
@jym626 - I am not working as an adcomm, but I do reach out to people in admissions at Tulane to ensure that I am providing accurate information that may not always be easily accessible for an applicant/parent.
New Orleans is the hardest place to leave and the easiest place to miss!
That’s important. Thanks. Are you doing alum interviews?
