All I have is a very very old Kindle Fire - not on the trade in list .
Needed/wanted some thin battery chargers for our phones, so bought 2 different ones (close in price but slightly different styles) and a fire stick. Got an email from the magazine site I use to order Consumer reports that they were doing a black friday sale so renewed my subscription at about half price. Thats about it.
I got the Apple 7 Watch…for $69.
It’s normally $399. Prime Day has it at $279.
I then filled out the Prime Day “stamps” for a $10 coupon, and then instant applied for the Amazon credit card, which right now offers a $200 gift card if you open an account. So put it all those discounts together and I paid $69 for the Apple Watch
(It’s a no annual fee credit card, I was approved in 10 seconds, gift card appears in your account immediately. I may or may not keep the card, but $200 off ASAP was a good deal!)
Just bought it and apparently got an extra $10 off:
Prime Savings: -$10.00
I had an option to check off with or without Kindle Unlimited - with it, no $10 extra Prime savings.
How is everyone not doing that deal?
I already have a card - and like it
I just ordered the above roborvac. I’ve been wanting to try this kind of vacuum. It doesn’t help that I just finished vacuuming the floor and am slightly exhausted.
I just ordered all of the linens for the new college dorm, and more fire sticks, because it seems my husband can never have enough fire sticks, ha!
I was looking for dorm stuff, too. But I didn’t like any of the comforters and ended up finally ordering from Macy’s. I was hoping to see some latex mattress toppers but they seem to have more foam options.
Prices on what I normally buy (Obagi skin care, Jane Iredale makeup) weren’t as favorable this year so I passed. (I also don’t need anything bc I’m well stocked.)
I almost bought some Yankee Candle candles but resisted since I still have 2 unused ones.
I looked at luggage but nothing I had to have or was that great a deal.
So in all, I’m kinda bummed!!
I’ll look some more tomorrow and see if anything catches my eye.
I did buy some dog toys!
I just applied for the card but am advised that they cannot make an immediate decision and they’ll notify me within 30 days. And that I’ll still be eligible for the “welcome offer.” I’m wondering if my credit freeze with the credit companies (to protect my SSN) is causing the delay. Possibly they will ask me to lift the freeze for the application to be approved? Possibly I’ll be able to figure out how to do that if necessary! We shall see.
I tossed out a pair of broken reading glasses yesterday and bought a new pair on Prime Day. I also bought a couple of digital movies that were Prime Day specials.
Of course. That’s what the freeze is designed to do - stop anyone (even you) from opening up new lines of credit in your name. Good news is that it worked. Bad news is that you won’t be approved until you unfreeze your info.
I caved and bought the Eufy robot vacuum I shared in the first post. I’ve been looking at it for a few months, there is free returns and I had some Amazon points to use so I paid less than $100 for it.
Oh and I bought some light bulbs! Not on a deal.
I have an instapot in my cart, still on the fence whether I’m going through with the purchase. It is not an amazing deal ($98 instead of $119).
That’s NOT an amazing deal. I’ve seen them on sale at Target for less than that!
I ended up buying a number of pens yesterday (mostly Pilot V5s plus some prefilled fountain pens in various colors, but also some 4-color Bic pens for the kid for school) and a set of school headphones for the kid, too. Most of the “bigger” deals haven’t been that tempting, or if they have, a quick check with camelcamelcamel will show that if I wait I’ll probably get a better price at another time.
Instapots are on much better sale than that on Prime Day. Just looked them up.
I have the one with the crisper lid and really like it. 90 bucks. Others are cheaper
@Marilyn, I got that same message but I had already lifted the credit freeze so I don’t know why they couldn’t approve me right away. I hope I’ll still get the $200 gift card if there’s a delayed approval!
Thanks to this thread I checked the price of the face serum I love. Over $20 off so ordered two. I just bought a bottle yesterday at a local shop so I know it’s a good deal. I prefer to shop local so I will still keep the full priced bottle.
The dogs glucosamine chews were also a good price.
Bit the bullet and applied for the Amazon Visa card and put younger son as second cardholder. (He has an AMEX but not all places take AMEX so having a VISA has been on our mind for him.)
It was bc of this thread I did it now so as to take advantage of the $200 gift card. (And the 5% cash back on Amazon purchases is better than our AMEX cash back rate so I suppose a win/win all around.)
