Princeton 2020 Accepted Students Thread

Hi everyone! I’m so excited for Princeton and I just want to make a thread for those of us lucky Tigers to discuss our possible home for four years!!!

I’m really excited too!! Is Princeton your clear top choice, or are you still going to consider other schools? By the way, is there a Facebook group yet?

@ALibertarian I’m a mom as you know but I heard there was a student FB group via the admitted students’ URL discussion group from the P site.

There are 2 FB sites - one “approved” by administration, and also a student-run site.

Congrats everyone! I’m still in disbelief that I was accepted! Does anyone else experience a feeling of inadequacy? I just feel as though there are so many incredible people who were accepted and I don’t live up to that standard of amazingness, haha. And then I see some people with incredibly strong records/applications who didn’t get in, and I’m astonished and almost confused as to why I did. But either way I’m ecstatic. As for the earlier question, I am still going to apply RD to some places and then decide for sure after hearing back. What about you guys?

Princeton is definitely my top choice and has been for quite some time. However, I will still be applying to a few other schools, including Harvard, Yale, and a liberal arts college that I really fell in love with. But this is certainly a load off my shoulders!!! @hannah428 I too feel woefully unworthy of being accepted, but I have to remind myself that I really do deserve this. I am so happy to have the opportunity to be a Princeton tiger.

Princeton has been my top choice for a while now, but I will still be applying to a couple more. Everything is still so surreal right now haha

Where is everyone here from?

@fretfulmother can you PM the link to: “the admitted students’ URL discussion group from the P site.”

found it: https://admitted.princeton.edu/

@psywar - that was fast! sorry, I didn’t have it on hand because it was on DS’s computer

So we can’t bring a car to campus until junior year. Do we need a bike to get around? Campus seemed pretty spread out when I visited last summer.

Excited to be a part of this wonderful community!

@JasonMath - having a bike on campus is a great idea and many, many students do have bikes. It’s especially helpful if you have any courses in the E-Quad since it takes some time to get there by foot.

Thanks @Cantiger.

Has anyone received their tshirt yet?

My daughter got hers today

DS got his tshirt but is not going to wear it until he decides on Princeton for sure. But it is really looking likely–since being accepted, his motivation to apply anywhere else has dropped like a rock!

Got my t-shirt as well! Have worn it twice in a week. So I’m love. Now, though, stressing over Harvard app (I’m a VERY last minute person- wrote Princeton supplement from scratch on Nov. 1). :((

@APrincetonian Also applied to Harvard! Good luck on your app
