Hi,
I'm a high school senior from India. I am planning to apply either to Princeton or UPenn. I know getting into UPenn is easier but I'll be applying for financial aid and since UPenn is not need blind for international students, would it be easier to get into Princeton?

Stats please.

Easy to get in and Princeton don’t go together. Apply to both, if you think you have a chance, or to none.

It doesn’t really matter. UPenn is still a relatively selective institution, and for the most part, if you can get into one Ivy, then you’re as competitive as possible for another.

UPenn nevertheless has more Indians on aid than the rest of the Ivy League (with the possible exception of Cornell).

The best thing to do would be too apply to both and see how it works out for you.

I think Penn has more Indians on aid than Cornell as well. They give out more money to internationals and admit more Indians.

Well, if you’re banking on aid, a “safer” option would be Princeton. Because if you’re admitted, you will receive as much as aid as you require. Penn, I don’t know- they do have a lot of Indians on aid, and they’ll probably be frugal about more.

u can’t just say that upenn is less selective… for eg. there is probably nothing as selective in princton as a M&T dual degree from upenn//

Dude, it all comes down to how good your application is. A highschool senior friend of mine got in everywhere he applied even Stanford, Cornell and Columbia, but went to Princeton as they where the only ones offering 100% aid to him, even though he could afford to go without any. If your application is good enough, Princeton has the funding to buy you. It has 3-4 times the funding available to UPenn or Cornell. But, then again, getting into Princeton is no easy task.
