I visited and didn't like it. It's not like Princeton at all, so I don't see why people would assume that everyone applies to both. I have a feeling that a lot of people do it just because it's on the save level...

i really liked harvard. its very different than princeton, but i still liked it.

at first, i was set on applying to only LACs, no ivys at all. but for some reason i suddenly shifted into this ivy thing, i guess because i wanted my schools a little bigger, meaning greater course options/profs and all that.

but yea, its weird to think that a few weeks ago i was applying ED to williams.

Williams is a great school though. It gives me good vibes even though I've never visited and don't know that much about it. But yea, I visited Haverford and Loyola and didn't like the LAC atmosphere...

It actually shocked me how big of a difference there is between the non-ivy good schools and ivies. In the summer I visited five ivies and then went to Tufts and it was very surprising.

In what way was it surprising?

zant- i know just what you mean. i did the same thing. tufts looked dirty and phony compared to yale and harvard. i just got really bad vibes from tufts...it was like a high school, not a university/college.

Yea it was kinda run-down compared to the ivies, but that's superficial. The real reason it was surprising was that I felt that it wasn't challenging enough. The students seem very active, but it just gave the feeling that it would be too easy to be a star there and I like competition which there wasn't enough of.

I went to Tufts excited to find a good "match"

and it sucked.

lol, i basically saw tufts for 5 minutes and left, i didn't even get out of the car (same with Upenn)

likewise. there were too many frats, all of the kids i talked to said all they wanted was to go to grad school and leave.

I'm still applying there =/
It sucked but my attitude was like "meh what can I expect out of a match/safety?"
But I think I'd rather go to UVa.

oh yea and Tufts is the Jumbo...so if u go to grad school there, you're a Double Jumbo...and they seemed proud of that...I don't want to be a Jumbo! >.<

(lol we just turned into a tufts bashing thread)

the one thing i like about tufts is the fact that i can do the 5 year tufts/fletcher thing in 4 years because of my college credits. that way i don't have to graduate early per say, and can still enjoy teh college life

yea but...tufts is barely in boston and Medford is so blehhh gross

i liked UPENN

i hated tufts. it just didnt have a good feel

so the general consensus seems to be that we don't like tufts?
I don't really feel like applying. Gah I don't like this! Why think about other schools?
