Princeton Review prep classes

Has anyone actually taken PR's prep classes? If so, is it worth the money?

i took it and my SAT went from an 1150 to a 1340

The Princeton Review classes are not really that great. The classes are geared toward people with average scores who want slightly above scores. If you're trying for ivy league-level scores (2150+), then a tutor (which you can get from Princeton Review, although they are a bit high-priced) might be an option to consider. Although the classes do help some people get really high scores, I personally thought they were an uneducational waste of time.

The real question is whether these people would have got the same scores had they preped on their own. Probably.

I took a Princeton Review course and went from a 2080 to a 2250. Although, what helped were the books with which I was provided than the actual "teachers" (if you can really call them that). My advice, buy a verbal and math book, and save $1,000.

The books definitely help much more than the teachers. You'll find that most of the teachers received lower scores when they took the test than the scores for which you're aiming. Additionally, many of the teachers are somewhat weak in a few areas. When I took a PR class, another student and basically I ended up explaining the math section of the book to the rest of the class (and the teacher).
