Forget Forbes, forget USNWR, forget the Washington Post (even though most have). The most important rankings of the "best 378 colleges in the country" are out. The Princeton Review looked at 378 schools and ranked them, by various categories, some academic, others not so much. Here's a list of the [url=http://www.princetonreview.com/college-rankings.aspx]62 ranking categories/url.

Some highlights:
University of Iowa is now the biggest party school in the country with the University of Cannabis, Sex and Beer (UCSB) coming in second, and last year's biggest partier, WVU, coming in at third.

Going to Bennington basically guarantees that students won't ever have to see the color red for the next four years. It's the most liberal school in the country followed by Sarah Lawrence and Warren Wilson.

For the exact opposite of those categories, check out BYU which not only "doesn't inhale", but also has some of the most religious students in the country, and stays "stone cold sober" even on game days.

Thoughts? I understand that the Princeton Review's rankings are at times suspect, but it's still an entertaining list one that matches up with many of my experiences.

Why is Williams unranked?

The Princeton Review rankings are inherently subjective, based on student answers. Perhaps the poorly sampled Williams students didn’t answer strongly enough on any one category to warrant their inclusion. It is however ranked as one of the top ten best values and one of the best schools in the nation so it’s not like the PR thinks Williams is a bad school.

If the Princeton Review properly sampled students, there’s no way UT Austin would be a bigger party school than OU.

The website is acting slow.

^ it’s just throwing me a bunch of errors. “Worst website” ranking anyone?

Gotta agree. Sloow to load, full of ads, and pagination upon pagination.

I *have *an account. Still delivering errors.

I feel like I’m just seeing the same colleges for every single ranking.
None of them interest me.

Retreating back to USNWR.

In my opinion, the rankings for Princeton Review are pointless. What I do find useful (if you buy the book) are the student insights on the college in the written reviews. That’s really the only reason to look at that book. I don’t know why they put so much emphasis on the rankings (it’s impossible to pick the 20 schools with the happiest students for example)
