Thanks in advance for your feedback! just submitted ea apps Will apply to many schools like harvard, stanford, yale, upenn, carnegie mellon, uva, unc chapel hill, rice, emory, cornell, columbia, etc. (if I get accepted ea, that will be a different story).
Would appreciate chances on any or all of listed schools!

Where did you apply EA?

Either way, you look like you’ll have great chances anywhere. Can’t fault your grades or classes, and your extracurriculars look strong. If you managed to paint them in a light that makes you seem passionate on your apps, I’d say you have a good shot.

That said, I know of a 4.0, 36-ACT legacy who got rejected from an Ivy, so you need to make sure you can stand out in the essays. But if I were to predict from this alone I’d say you could get into most of the schools you listed, with Harvard Standford Yale of course being the ones you have a tougher shot at (who doesn’t).

Thanks for making my app look that much worse at Princeton. Lol. In all seriousness you have a great chance.

If you are intelligent enough to receive those test scores, would you not realize how good they are? I sense subtle brag. But anyway you are more qualified than most, but you still can get rejected. So you have as good a chance as anyone.

@FinelyAgedPruno hi, I don’t think that test scores are particularly important once they’re above a certain threshold. Thanks for the feedback tho!

sorry for sounding grumpy @debate4ever

Yes thats definitely true

“If you managed to paint them in a light that makes you seem passionate on your apps, 'd say you have a good shot.”

Question: Did those activity section boxes expand on the Common App?

I’d say your chances are good - you seem to be a dedicated, well-rounded student. Just make sure that your essays are better than that 8 on your ACT writing xD.

In all seriousness though, you shouldn’t worry. You’ll be perfectly fine wherever you go.

Here’s mine: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1825819-for-my-list-extensive-p1.html

are there any matches or low matches on my list?

ayyyye what’s good

Bump

Also, I noticed Princeton didn’t accept anyone from my state last year. How much, if any, will this help my chances?

I think you have a pretty good chance, considering the fact that you applied EA and your well-roundedness (like 30-40%). However, in past years princeton has rejected people with the same qualifications as you so it will be hard to predict. Just cross your fingers and hope for the best at this point, and I’ll be rooting for you!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1831441-chance-me-for-my-list-of-schools-i-will-chance-back.html?new=1

Will someone predict my results for Princeton (scea) harvard, stanford, yale, upenn, carnegie mellon, uva, unc chapel hill, rice, emory, cornell, columbia, washU, MIT , Duke? I’m trying to narrow down my list

You’re highly competitive for any school on your list. Your academics, awards and ECs are all strong. Being Asian doesn’t help, but being a female in STEM and from the deep south does, and your combination of STEM and debate is attractive. What you need to do is to tie everything together into a coherent narrative.

Predicting what an Adcom will do is futile, but I would expect you to do very well.

harvard- can’t say
stanford- can’t say
yale- can’t say
upenn- accept
carnegie mellon- accept
uva- accept
unc chapel hill- accept
rice- accept
emory- accept
cornell- accept
columbia- can’t say

@renaissancedad @jackisawesome thanks for the feedback!

@debate4ever could u chance me back? :slight_smile: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1838238-ucla-berkeley-cornell-will-chance-back.html#latest

sure @jackisawesome

Update (hopefully this thread can be a reference for future applicants)
I was deferred from Princeton, but recently received a likely letter to Columbia. Also named a finalist for full scholarships at WashU and UVA.
The deferral hit me hard at first since Princeton was my top choice, but now I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I have been given. Time to finally enjoy senior year
