Princeton Short Answer Topic

For one of the Princeton short answers, it asks what brings you joy. I wrote a few sentences about spending evenings just relaxing with my family. I thought it would add a perspective on how I “appreciate small moments” but now I’m wondering if this might show them that I’m unwilling to give that up if I get in and have to dorm? I heard somewhere that they often consider factors like retention and whether you can thrive away from home for schools that are farther. Other topics I have in mind are about hobbies, but those are kind of repetitive from my ECs. This might just be me overthinking but is a sentimental-ish piece on family doing more bad to my application than good?

Maybe talk about your family but include how you can use a change to thrive and add to the Princeton community?
