Thank you so much to everyone who gave advice.
I finally decided today: next year, I will be going to Pomona! Many of you were right; though it took me about a month to realize it, I really did subconsciously prefer Pomona. I know Princeton is an excellent school with fantastic opportunities, but I think I've discovered that I am not quite what the school is looking for. Furthermore, in my mind the positive attributes of Pomona (small, discussion-based classes and the laid-back community) outweigh the attributes of Princeton (renowned professors, resources, and alumni connections).
This is definitely the right decision for me, and thank you for helping me choose.

Glad you made a decision that makes you happy.

I do have to correct however the thinking that Princeton is eat your dead.

I have never heard that or seen that. And I would almost say the place goes too far on the nurturing side:).

Glad you made a decision! I'm sure you'll do great at Pomona and in your future career!

And I was kidding about the NJ stench thing, just playing around with the Jersey stereotype. But in my defense, I live near Jersey City, which is arguably one of the worst-smelling areas in the state! And I hate cold weather, hence why I consider it to be atrocious.

arizonamom-
LOL!

AWESOME. See you there! I decided today also.

You're my hero. P for P, I think you'll do alright.

Awesome! I just decided on Pomona today too! Turned down some bigger names too (though none as big as pton, good job). See you there in the fall!

"Now are you more likely to run into someone SMARTER than you at Princeton than at Pomona, well yeah"

As Yo Yo Ma said of his Harvard experience. "Everyone is smarter..and that is a wonderful thing to be able to accept"

I would choose Princeton. Pomona is fun and has some cool traditions but Princeton is once in a lifetime.

Jess. congratulations, on following your heart . You will have an amazing 4 years! Best of luck!!

Congratulations Jess, DSC, and Flowersunshine! You all will not be disappointed. Remember Robert Frost - "Two roads diverged in a wood, and I - I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference".

And there will be those smarter than you at Pomona or Princeton - remember, their SAT scores aren't much different...

SAT: Pomona, Princeton
25th%ile CR: 690, 690
75th%ile CR: 770, 770
25th%ile M: 690, 690
75th%ile M: 760, 790
Percent over 700CR: 73%, 73%
Percent over 700M: 71%, 74%

Congrats! You will get a superb education.

Even though I was pulling for Princeton, congrats on your decision and on being able to go to a wonderful school like Pomona! If you keep your levelheaded approach in life, you'll go far no matter what schools you attend. :-)

whoo! See you all (Jess43281, DSC, flowersunshine) next year! Join the Pomona 2012 facebook group- if you did i've probably already tried to friend you, but don't worry, most pomona kids are not as creepy as i

Congratulations on an excellent choice!

It sounds as if you knew inside what you wanted all along. Have a great 4 years!
