princeton/yale anyone?

<p>I am a senior and I go to a somewhat competitive high school and i rank in the top 3%. I also go to a pubilc school that is the largest in illinois is that bad?</p>

<p>prospective schools: yale, priceton, columbia and uchicago (haha high reaches i know:)</p>

family income: 240,000 my dad only works and i didn't apply for aid
race: east indian first generation</p>

<p>weighted gpa: 4.7 is that low?
unweighted: 3.97
I have taken 10 AP classes and have gotten A's in all of them but in my school we are required to take 8 semesters of gym and other classes that only go on a 4.0 scale which is why my gpa is low. </p>

Symphonic Band I - highest band in our school and we've won several reigonal, district and state awards.
Jazz Band- often perform at prestigious jazz festivals
Girls Chorus
Spring Musical- i play the lead female:)
Hip-Hop Dancing- won awards at many competitions held in chicago and we've even brought the gold home :)
Mu Alpha Theta
Mathletes- haven't won state but we've won plenty of regional/distict awards
Speech Team- state champs for nearly a decade
200 hours of community service at a local animal shelter</p>

i've done plenty of stuff for band like all-state, SWIC and Division 1 ratings for my solos and ensembles. im sucha bandgeek :)
National AP Scholar
first place for dramatical intepretation at state for speech-two years<br>
and a bunch of other insignificant little awards</p>

<p>Uchi and Columbia are practically matches for you. It would be surprising if you didn't get into these two, assuming your essays are of the same general quality as the rest of your app.</p>

<p>Yale and Princeton are basically crapshoots for everybody, but you've got as good a chance as any, and a better chance than most.</p>

<p>Given that you've done math, have you written AMC contests? I thin kyou're in at UChi and Columbia, with a bit of a reach at Yale and Princeton, but AIME qualification or something would push them up to a match.</p>
