prinecton->courant

Do you think this course is reasonable to be an IB? or to be a quant?

Princeton (The Bendheim Center for Finance) -> NYU Courant, Master in Mathematics for finance

I like math and I heard that studying math enhances the probability of getting a job at IB, that's why I'm thinking about this course, but is it better to learn business or economics at UPenn or harvard instead?

Or should I choose other schools like carnegie mellon's mscf (master in computer science)?

Don’t need to study math for IB, and you’d definitely feel out of place with a graduate degree in mathematics. It’s more suitable for quantitative/algo trading roles

What about sales & trading? I heard traders use lots of math there.

And do quants trade themselves? Or do they just keep programming models on screen whole day without communicating with any others? If so, I wouldn’t like it…
I’d be so interested if I can both program and trade.

Definitely out of place. Better for prop trading.
