I'm applying for grad school in Fall 2010 and I'm down to the wire. I've narrowed it down, but it's so hard to tell where I have a chance of getting in..HELP!

Here's me in a nutshell:

B.A in International Business
B.S. in Spanish
[From the College of Charleston]
GPA 3.44/4.0
(Dean's List twice for GPA 3.9 and GPA 3.7)
Tutored ESL for a few months, some vol work at elementary school for 5 mo.
Haven't taken GRE yet but generally don't do great on standarized tests. Will probably end up being the the 500's for verbal and quantitative.
Semester study abroad in Argentina
Travel Writing Intern - 6 mo. freelancing for newly launched travel Web site.
Editorial Intern - 6 mo. at local business magazine owned by SouthComm Jan-Jun '09.
"Contributing" or Freelance Writer for same mag (online and print) since June '09.

I have several published clips, but I know my work experience is not that impressive - nor my average GPA/GRE.

Here are my top choices:

American University

City University of New York

Berekely (high reach)

NYU

Boston University

Northeastern University

Should I even bother applying to some of those (like Berkeley)?

I am basing my search largely off of what school has a good print journalism program (NOT communications, PR, etc.) and also the location. (As in, where is there a media market? What city do I want to make connections in for future jobs?)

I'd really like to go to San Francisco, but can't find any schools. All Calif. really has to offer is Berekely, USC and Stanford (which is obviously not an option)....
What other GOOD schools are out there that are in big cities and not too prestigious?

Any ADVICE OR SUGGESTIONS, etc?
Thank you.
