Printer recommendations

In divvying up supplies to bring with her freshman roommate, my daughter just asked me to find her a printer. I was thinking a small footprint laser, but she says she wants an all-in-one. So, any suggestions for a small-footprint all-in-one--preferably wireless, which would be a plus in a small dorm room--that is cheap on consummables, is easy to set up and works with both macs and pcs (and possibly makes a good cup of coffee)?

I gave my son my Brother BW laser for school, and he never used it. It was replaced at home with an HP 86000, which I love, but it's gynormous.

Her school allots $30 a year per student for printing and charges $.06 per BW sheet and $.50 per color sheet. You can print remotely from your dorm room or anywhere on campus.

I may dissuade her from starting out with one but get it if she finds she needs it, or it's a major convenience. Even in high school, she was submitting most work electronically.

Check with the school to make sure there’s no free printer offers. For example, at my school, engineering majors get 50 free pages in the engineering library, and my apartment offers free printing as long as we provide the paper.
