Private Canadian colleges for a US student

I am wondering if there are any good private universities in Canada that give generous financial aid for international students from the us. I am very interested in science but I want a broad education as well. The only school I have really heard about is quest. Are private schools in Canada at all similar to the states? Any info is appreciated. I am also a senior and i llive pretty close to BC so I could definitely visit.

It appears to me a lot of the private universities are religious which I don’t want. It is fine if they are affiliated but I wouldn’t want a strong presence on campus…

All of the reputable universities in Canada are public. The private ones are almost all religious affiliated and many are not accredited.

That’s too bad. Is it a general consensus US LACs are better?

Basically to go to a public would cost way too much. My sister got in to UBC last year and it wasn’t affordable. However, for my cousin who is a dual citizen, it was so much cheaper than college here.

Better than what? If you mean better than Canadian universities, then, no, that definitely is not a general consensus.

The thread is about private colleges. Therefor I am asking if us private lacs are better than Canadian private schools.

There barely are any Canadian private schools - as far as I know, Quest, which you already mentioned, is the only private school of its kind (accredited, LAC-style, not affiliated)
