<p>Are the ever terrible problem sets at CalTech graded for accuracy or completion?</p>
<p>It depends. Most math and physics classes problem sets are designed to be done in groups, and most Techers work in groups of 2-10 people on these sets. Some people will do them on their own and ask their housemates for help only when stuck. Most will do them cooperatively with their housemates. The problem sets are generally NOT used for grades but for learning the material. And while some are tough, some are really tough, most are manageable. And they DO help you in figuring out how to figure stuff out!</p>
<p>I don’t remember ever having a problem set graded for completion after high school. (Your high school teacher didn’t have a battalion of grad students to do their dirty work.)</p>
